Presidential Tribunal: My legal team is impressing me – Peter Obi

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, has commended his legal team’s performance at the President Election Petition Tribunal.

He took to his Twitter account on June 2 and expressed satisfaction with the team, saying he is gratified with their efforts.

The Labour Party tendered presidential election results in court and they were admitted as evidence to support its claim against the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi shared photos of himself with LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, and other party leaders at the PEPT on Friday.

Speaking on his legal team’s performance, Obi said; “Today, LP Chairman Barr Julius Abure, Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed, Sen Victor Lar, and I along with a host LP and Obidients Family members, were at the Presidential Election Tribunal (PEPT), in Abuja.

“I’m gratified by the diligent efforts of our legal team.”

In February, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu winner of the February 25 presidential election.

At the hearing presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, lead counsel to Obi informed the court that he had a schedule of more evidence which they desire to render before the court.

Also admitted were results from Niger, Adamawa, Oyo, Bayelsa, and Edo states tendered by the LP.
