The chairman of the university’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of the Universities (ASUU), Biodun Olaniran released a statement on Thursday to urge students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) to pray for reopening of the school. According to him, the governing council has been trying their very best but salaries are yet to be paid.

Olaniran said:

LAUTECH has been on strike for over a year over non-payment of workers’ salaries and inadequate funds to run the institution.

Really, I must say that hopes of resumption are bleak. The governing council has been trying its best but we have not received salaries because there is yet no funding. Only God can touch the heart of the owners.

We need students to keep praying because we need prayers at this critical point. We really do. The fate of the students hangs on this,”
