Policewoman in viral ‘epp me’ clip seeks financial aid from Nigerians after accident [Video]

Helen Utabor, the policewoman behind the viral “epp me, epp me” video is currently in a pitiable state and has asked Nigerians for financial support after being involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Popular comedian, I Go Save took to his Instagram page to share a video of the ailing officer who was said to have been hit by a vehicle while controlling traffic in Edo.

Helen became a viral sensation in May 2022 for crying “Ep me, ep me… he dey carry me go where I no know,” after she entered a man’s car without his consent and he zoomed off with her.

I Go Save narrated how a driver chose to use one-way while she was controlling traffic knocked down Mrs Utabor and the motorist fled the scene.

He drew attention to her plight after the incident because the Nigerian Police Force failed to provide support. The comedian said she needs 1.5 million naira for treatment, and he also promised to give the woman N500k.

I Go Save said the officer’s daughter reached out to him and disclosed that four hospitals have refused to attend to her mother because of the family’s inability to pay the bills.

He called on comedians, musicians, and all content creators who have “made money” from using Utabor’s voice, to support her.

He said; “Helen is a police officer who likes her job. She was controlling traffic when a driver hit her and broke her leg. She was taken to four different hospitals with her uniform when she was bleeding. All the hospitals rejected her and told her to bring N1.5 million before she could be treated.

Meanwhile, she does not have that amount. Her daughter reached out to me on Instagram and I did my investigation to know if she was on duty. Was she supposed to be there? They sent me a CCTV footage showing the car that hit her but we could not even get the car’s number.

This woman has been receiving native treatment from home but she is a woman serving the nation, protecting lives and property. She is receiving treatment from home because she does not have money for medical care. When her daughter reached out to me I was touched.

I know how much money people have made from using her voice. Musicians and comedians have used her voice to make money. Let us raise money for her to get better treatment.

If the government cannot help, let’s do it for ourselves. I will support you with N500 thousand. I am calling on the Edo state governor and President Tinubu to put police on better insurance plan.”
