Peter Okoye reacts as court dismisses case against Senator Abbo despite video evidence

Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye professionally known as Mr. P has reacted to the court’s dismissal of the assault case against Senator Abbo.

A Magistrate Court in Zuba, Abuja dismissed the assault case instituted by the Nigeria Police against the lawmaker representing Adamawa-North, Senator Elisha Abbo.

The magistrate, Abdullahi Ilelah, ruled that the evidence and exhibits tendered to the court did not prove the criminal charges against the lawmaker.

After the prosecution concluded its case, Abbo’s legal team did not open a defence but filed a no-case submission, asking the court to dismiss the charges.

The prosecution had tendered to the court as evidence the video of the incident, captured by the shop’s CCTV, the video of Abbo’s public apology, and a medical report signed by one Dr Amobrose Ibegbule who treated the victim after the incident.

Mr P, who seems not to be shocked by the verdict stated that anyone who is a Nigerian and is surprised is not wise.

He wrote: “E shock u? Or are y’all surprised?

If you are a Nigerian and you are still surprised then you are not wise. Just work hard and make money and be happy with yourself and family in this country. Period!”
