Legendary Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has recounted an interesting incident that occurred during his mother’s burial involving, Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party.
He stated that the politician who is known to be prudent, gave him the sum of N250,000 when he lost his mother in 2011.
Kanayo said that at the time, Obi was the governor of Anambra State, and the N250k he sent for the burial was the exact price for a cow.
The movie star expressed surprise because as someone of his calibre, some people would have expected Obi, to give him millions but he only sent him the amount that could purchase a cow.
He, however, stated that despite the amount the former Anambra governor gave to him, the most important thing was that he put aside time in his busy schedule to give him a call and send his condolences.
Kanayo emphasised that people see themselves his close friends, but cannot put time aside to return his call should not refer to themselves as his friends.
