Pere reacts to arrest of ex-US president Donald Trump, wonders when Nigeria will do same

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has lauded America’s justice system following the arrest of immediate past president, Donald Trump.

He expressed amazement that a former leader of the country could be arrested and made to face criminal charges, noting that it is proof that their system works.

Trump was arrested in Manhattan, New York, on Tuesday, over his alleged role in paying hush money to adult film star, Stormy Daniels, in the days preceding his election victory back in 2016.

The business mogul voluntarily surrendered himself and is now facing a retinue of criminal charges.

Trump’s arrest marks a historic shift in global justice-seeking processes as it is the first time a former president will walk into a courtroom as a criminal defendant after being indicted by a grand jury.

Commenting on the matter, Pere, who served in the US Army questioned the Nigerian judicial system.

He noted that there are past presidents of Nigeria who are known to be corrupt that should face similar criminal charges.

The reality star wrote; ‘Trump getting arrested!!! On live TV!!! Facing criminal charges! I mean America is not a perfect country but the justice system sometimes make me smile.

That’s a former American president o. Nigerian judicial system, how far na? I know we have some corrupt ex-presidents o!”
