A Zimbabwean pastor, Madzibaba Bond Gumira, has reportedly confessed to the murder of a traditional healer.
Gumira, a well-known leader of the Johane Masowe Nyenyedzi Nomwe Apostolic sect in Zimbabwe handed himself over to the authorities.
According to local media, the cleric claimed he shot and killed a traditional healer, known as “n’anga.”
However, the circumstances surrounding the crime are yet to be revealed.
Gumira reportedly rushed to a police station in Shona to seek refuge from a spirit or “Ngozi” of the person he allegedly killed.
Witnesses claim that the prophet arrived at the station with his Toyota Fortuner covered in dust, claiming that he had been pursued by the restless soul.
The Mashonaland East police spokesperson, Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi, confirmed the incident, and said an investigation into the matter will commence.
Following the prophet’s surrender and confession, the police visited the crime scene and discovered a bag containing a gun.
An eyewitness, Tafadzwa Chitsa, narrated how the prophet seemed distressed and disheveled when he arrived at the police station.
