Omah Lay is the type of artiste I’d like to work with – Speed Darlington

Nigerian singer and rapper, Speed Darlington, has revealed that he would like to collaborate with Afropop sensation, Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay.

According to him, that is the type of artiste he is interested in making music with and not the likes of Burna Boy or Davido.

Akpi as he is fondly called made this known while granting an interview on Hip TV where he emphasised that he only wants to work with people that are on the same level as himself.

Speed Darlington said; “Omah Lay is cool, I like Omah Lay, even though I haven’t met him, but yeah! I would like to do music with such men.”

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview, the US-based singer said it would be a risk to feature or be featured by Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid, because it would be said that they made him.

Speedy also said the ‘Last Last’ crooner is an attention seeker, adding that he once made a video in the bathroom just to get his attention.

“I don’t wanna do song with Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, none of those names. I’m not interested because tomorrow it will become, ‘We made you.’ You didn’t make me, I was trending before you met me. I didn’t even know you. You made a video to get my attention in a bathroom. So, who know who? I’m talking about Burna. You made a video to get. Who know who? You, come to me. Otherwise, let it fail. I’m not interested.

“I heard the name Burna Boy not too long ago. But I’ve come to realise that has been putting in work for years. It’s just that the industry didn’t recognise him.

“I heard the name Burna Boy, I think 2017/2018. There was a video he made and he was basically giving me a hint; let’s do something. The video so how found me. This was 2017/2018. First of all, I thought he was an American artiste. I had no idea who he was,” he said.
