Popular Nigerian actress, Regina Daniels, has said that Nollywood industry is not a safe place for young girls to work.
She stated this via her social media page while urging producers and directors to discontinue and discourage the act of employing minors into the movie industry.
The 22-year-old actress recalled the time she met a 14-year-old girl dressed indecently and working under a makeup artist on a movie set.
Daniels, in a video she posted on Instagram advised her colleagues to shun child labour and keep the Nigerian entertainment industry secure.
She said; “I met a 14-year-old girl wearing a short skirt, crop top and working under another young guy on the movie set who claims to be a make-up artist.
Her parents are far away in Port Harcourt and she came to Lagos last year. She sleeps in different hotel rooms with whoever agrees to accommodate her every night and is not willing to go back to her parents.
This girl told me that she is here to learn but trust me, I know the industry and it is not a safe place for young girls.”
She captioned the clip: “DISCLAIMER!!! This goes to the CELEBRITIES AND MOVIE PRODUCERS PLEASE SAY NO TO CHILD LABOUR and keep the industry Secure.”

In other entertainment news, Nigerian actor, Adeniyi Johnson recently welcomed a set of twins with his wife, Seyi Edun after seven years of waiting.
The Nollywood star took to his Instagram page to make the announcement on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Johnson gave thanks to God to blessing them with the children which he referred to as a birthday gift for himself.
He also appreciated friends, family members and well wishers for all the goodwill messages sent to him.
According to Johnson, the development was why he could not celebrate his birthday because he was so engrossed in the joy of welcoming his twins.
The actor shared a photo of him holding the twin babied hands after birth and said his wife and kids are doing fine.
