No song is bigger than Machala – Carter Efe breaks down in tears over Headies snub (Video)

Nigerian content creator and artiste, Carter Efe has lashed out at the organisers of the 16th Headies’ award over the released nominations list.

The skit-maker who released a smash hit single, titled Machala with Berri Tiga last year, did not bag any nomination and he felt cheated.

In a video making the rounds online, Carter Efe broke down in tears while talking about how his name deserves to be on the list of nominees. He bragged that Machala was the biggest song in the country.

He issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Headies to change the entire list and include his name, warning that they ‘should not try me’. A friend who was with him while he was lamenting tried to console the Machala hitmaker.

Carter released the song on the 29th of July, 2022 and it debuted at the 14th position of 50 on the afrobeat charts in the first week.
