A young Nigerian man has stirred reactions after he launched a bread giveaway scheme in celebration of Nigeria’s Independence.
The TikToker revealed that he decided to share bread to residents after someone empowered him with some money to help those in need.
He shared a video online which showed him inside his shop as he was giving out the bread to customers that visited to make other purchases.
Some people seemed hesitant to collect the bread, but they eventually did so as he was wishing them Happy Independence Day.
He revealed that beneficiaries of the giveaway went to call their friends to come and collect their share and he happily gave more loaves of bread.
The businessman said that those who refused to collect any bread from him were mostly elderly women who were owing him.

This comes amid lamentations by the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye over recent challenges in Nigeria, one of which is the rising cost of bread.
He urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders while also talking about the high cost of flight tickets and the frequent collapse of the national grid.
Adeboye spoke on Sunday during RCCG’s monthly thanksgiving service, which also commemorated Nigeria’s 62nd independence.
The revered cleric also stated that despite the economic challenges faced by citizens, the presidential villa would not feel it, stressing that there would always be bread and electricity there.
In his words; “Maybe we should spend more time praying for our rulers. We know it’s easier to criticise. There are battles human beings cannot fight and win. There are certain battles only God can win.
“Pray for your rulers, because for every mistake they’ll make, it’s the people who will suffer, not them. Why are we suffering? Because we have not prayed. The fault is ours.
“The other day, I was asking how much a ticket from Lagos to Abuja is and they said N250,000. It used to be about N60,000. I asked what happened and they told me.
“Let me tell you one thing. It doesn’t matter how much bread costs; there will be bread in Aso Rock. It doesn’t matter how many times the power grid collapses, there will be electricity in Aso Rock. If our leaders make mistakes, who will suffer? Pray for our rulers.”
