Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has stated that 2024 was a great year for him.
The DMW boss, in a post on Sunday, December 31, 2023, gave thanks to God for restoring happiness and success in his life.
His words may not be unconnected with the sad demise of his son, Ifeanyi Adelee jnr, in October 2021. The boy drowned in the swimming pool at the singer’s Banana Island mansion.
After showing appreciation for how 2023 ended, Davido declared as he enters the new year that he is ready for 2024.
He wrote; “2023 Was a great year ! Thank you God ! For restoring happiness n Success in my life !! 2024 I’M READY !! đđžâ¤ď¸”

Speaking in an interview with Omega, the Omo Baba Olowo said he still cries anytime he remembers the boy who died after his 3rd birthday.
The ‘IF’crooner said people were expecting him to make âTimelessâ album have a sad theme because of the loss of his son, but he opted for âbangers.
He said; âI miss him every day, there are tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you donât have to see it. I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people love me, I know how many people are depending on me.
âMy son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility, I have to be strong for the world.â
The music star further said that he knows Ifeanyi and his late mother, Mrs Veronica Adeleke are dancing to his songs in heaven.
