Napoli to sue company for creating ‘Osimhen doll’

Napoli is set to take legal action against an Italian toy store over a doll allegedly created in the image of striker, Victor Osimhen.

The doll’s resemblance with Osimhen made it go viral on the internet and this compelled the Partenopei to announce that it will take legal action against the company for the unlicensed doll bears.

The toy’s features include a protective mask with the 9 on it, a light blue jersey and a blond tuft of curly hair like that of the Nigeria international.

In a statement released on Thursday, Napoli confirmed that the doll is not in any way authorised by the club or Osimhen and is therefore breaching his image rights.

CorrectNG reported that former head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh has advised Victor Osimhen to quit Napoli following his row with the club.

It may be recalled that Napoli mocked Osimhen by uploading a video on TikTok where it referred to him as a coconut, after he missed a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Bologna.

Taking to Twitter to comment on the issue, Oliseh wrote; “Forever proud to be Nigerian; One must show personality, work hard & refuse to be intimidated.

Let Racists and ingrates talk! That’s why they are eternal losers who secretly wish they were created like you! Osimhen needs to leave Napoli as soon as yesterday!!.”
