Some youth members of Nasarawa State branch of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiites, yesterday, worshipped with Christian faithfuls at Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Graceland Lafia, to celebrate Christmas.
Leader of the Islamic group, Mallam Muhammad Amin disclosed that they were at the church to pray for the healing of Nigeria and Nasarawa State in particular as well as rejoice with Christians on the birth of Jesus Christ.
According to him, the birth of Jesus Christ was significant to mankind, hence the need for Muslims to rejoice together in love as it is enshrined in the Holy Book.
Also speaking, Mallama Zainab Mohammed said there is no discrimination in worshipping God, hence people of the world should tolerate one another irrespective of their religious differences.
Earlier, Senior Pastor of Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ, Very Rev. Habila Anthony, had announced the arrival of the Shiites, saying their visit was genuine and urged church members not to panic.
Rev. Habila Anthony described the visit by the IMN members to the Church on Christmas day as a sign of unity and love that both religion preaches.
The Islamic group was, however, seen seating outside the Church and wearing face masks in line with COVID-19 protocols.
