Move to Chelsea – Mikel advises Osimhen

Former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi has advised his compatriot, Victor Osimhen to join his former club.

Osimhen was linked with a move to the Premier League outfit and other top clubs around Europe in the summer.

Mikel, who recently featured Obione podcast urged the Napoli striker to choose the Blues as his next club.

“He’s got the arrogance, he’s got the personality, you can feel someone has walked into the dressing room and that’s what Didier [Drogba] had. With Victor, I will say definitely he’s come close to Didier. My advice for him is to come to Chelsea,” Mikel said.

Victor Osimhen has said he would rather play in the Major League Soccer (MLS) than in the Saudi Pro League if he was offered the “same conditions”.

The 24-year-old forward turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi side, Al Hilal this summer.

He spoke on his preference in a Twitch interview with former Italy forward, Mario Balotelli and Emiliano Viviano, insisting that he is happy in Serie A.

“I am happy at Napoli. People don’t know how difficult it is to play in Serie A. From a tactical and physical point of view, it’s one of the most difficult leagues to play in,” Osimhen said.

However, when asked if he would rather play in the MLS or Saudi Pro League if given the same conditions, the Nigeria international replied: “If I had the same conditions, I would go to MLS.”
