A woman has narrowly escaped a fatal accident that claimed the lives of her two children at the River Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State.
It was gathered that a truck suffered a brake failure, and crushed the kids to death around 5:00 pm on Saturday, but their mother was able to run to safety.
An eyewitness, said the mother of two and other passengers were waiting to board vehicles heading to Asaba, Delta state when the tragic incident occurred.
Acording to the source who witnessed the entire event, the mother wailed inconsolably, and some other people involved in the accident sustained injuries.
The eyewitness said; “The trailer which was heading towards Asaba lost control and hit the mother and her children alongside other passengers waiting to board vehicles heading to Asaba. The mother was lucky, as she escaped, but her two children were crushed to death.”
