Mompha reacts to reports of DSS taking over EFCC office in Lagos

Nigerian socialite, Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha has reacted to the reported takeover of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s office on Tuesday by the Department of State Services, DSS.

DSS operatives were said to have stormed the office of the EFCC, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from gaining access to the building in Ikoyi, Lagos state.

It was gathered that both agencies have an ongoing rivalry over the ownership of the building.

The punch reports that the DSS operatives stormed the office around 7:00 am on Tuesday, and refused to leave despite dialogue between operatives of both agencies.

A source said; “There’s been a running battle between us and the DSS over who owns the office because the office was used by them before the EFCC came on board and it was handed over to us.”

In reaction, Mompha took to his Instagram page and made mockery of the situation, particularly targeting the EFCC.

The internet celebrity currently has a case in court which was adjourned till July 3, 2023 . EFCC arraigned him for N6 billion fraud.

He posted a screenshot of a tweet which read; “DSS carry gun enter EFCC office to attack meanwhile EFCC carry gun dey defend.

After DSS win, EFCC officers go come twitter dey shout “Say No to Police Brutality”.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has directed the DSS, to immediately vacate the office of the EFCC, in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Tinubu gave the directive via a tweet from the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential Campaign Council.

The tweet reads: “The President gave the directive when reports that DSS officials stormed the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from accessing their workplace, was brought to his attention.

“The President said if there were issues between the two important agencies of government, they would be resolved amicably.”
