Mohbad will get justice, says Falana

Funmi Falana, the lawyer representing late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad, has stated confidently that justice will be served as efforts are being made to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.

The human rights activist and founder of Women Empowerment and Legal Aids said the coroner’s inquest would do everything within its capacity to get to the root of the artiste’s untimely demise.

Mohbad justice

Funmi told Saturday Beats; “The sitting today was just a preliminary one to discuss the modalities and procedure, as well as how to go about it. It is just a corona’s inquest, and not a formal court hearing.

“The expectation is that justice will be served. We would get to the root of the cause of Mohbad’s death. That is the reason we are there, and we are fully confident that we would get justice.”

Socio-political commentator, Reno Omokri opined that many Nigerians do not want justice for the popular musician.

He made the assertion through his official Twitter page, and noted that most people just want to use it as an avenue to go after people they do not like.

Omokri said that some people see the calls for justice to be served in Mohbad’s death as a way for them to target a particular person or group.

The former presidential aide went on to say that if the police concluded its investigation and the prime suspects are cleared of any wrongdoing, the people will accuse them of accepting bribe.

He wrote; ‘’Many Nigerians actually do not want #JusticeForMohBad. What they want is mob Justice against identified people they don’t like. To them, Justice For MohBad means that it just must be a certain person or persons.

“I am really feeling sorry for the @PoliceNG. If their report clears certain persons, some people will insist they have been bribed or otherwise compromised. They don’t want an investigation. They want an inquisition. She mo pa ro?”
