Meet 26-year-old visually impaired man who makes beds, tables out of plastic fiber (Photos/Video)

A talented young man identified as Abdul Aziz has inspired many with the story of the creative works he executes with his hands.

The 26-year-old who is a visually-impaired man from Bawku in the Upper East Region of Ghana makes tables with plastic fiber, the material used in making African mats and uses thread to make beds.

According to Abdul Aziz who was able to acquire his National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Certificate, he is currently able to make two beds a week.

He, however, mentioned that he can increase the production to at least 20 beds a week if he opens a shop and currently needs some financial assistance to achieve his goal.

Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams, shared photos of Abdul’s handcrafted camp beds, centre table and poolside beds despite his situation.

Sharing the images and video, Saddick wrote;

”THREAD: Help a brother.

I heard the story of Mr Abdul Aziz, a 26-year-old visually impaired who is able to weave camp beds, centre table and poolside beds in Bawku, despite his situation. He needs support to open his shop….

”Abdul Aziz has his NVTI Certificate and says he can make at least 20 beds a week if he opens a shop. Now, he makes 2. He currently works from the small porch of his single room. He also needs buyers for the camp beds, centre table and can make pool side beds for hotels & resorts

He is a former student of the Bawku School for the blind and is a very skilled weaver. He currently works alone but is ready employ and train others in the making of these items.”
