Mbappe moving to Real Madrid is not good news – Barcelona president

Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has sad that Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe’s decision to join Real Madrid is “not good news.”

Madrid have confirmed that the 25-year-old attacker will be joining the club as a free agent at the transfer window.

Reacting to the development, Laporta told Mundo Deportivo: “As a Barça fan, it’s not good news to see Mbappé to Real Madrid.

“But to be honest, I prefer our strategy to trust a project with players produced and made in La Masia. I respect our rivals but I keep our Philosophy.”

Mbappe will wear the No. 9 shirt at the Bernabeu after agreeing a five-year deal. Meanwhile, last year, PSG Mbappe had agreed a deal with Real Madrid, and they ‘felt betrayed’ that he was going back on his words.

The Parisians were convinced Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, a move that is viewed as a huge betrayal after he said he would never leave for free.

It was said that PSG insiders believe what Mbappe is doing is almost sabotage, killing his club and empowering the club’s big rival with a free gift transfer.

The Ligue 1 Giants were convinced it’s just about money for Mbappe now. If he stays in Paris just until next summer, he picks up more than £100m. Then next summer he can get a £160m signing-on fee in Madrid as a free agent plus huge wages.
