Mark Zuckerberg accepts Elon Musk’s challenge to fight in cage match

Chief Executive Officer of Meta (formerly Facebook) has agreed to have a cage fight with Tesla founder, Elon Musk, who challenged him.

This is coming on the heels of rumours that Meta was planning to launch a new app called Threads which will rival Twitter.

In reaction, Musk then challenged the Zuckerberg to a fight, saying he was “up for a cage match” .

The Meta CEO responded by by posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption; “send me location.”

A spokesperson for Meta confirmed to The Verge that Zuckerberg’s response was not a joke, saying “the story speaks for itself”.

The Twitter boss apparently named a location on Thursday, replying on Twitter to news of the matchup with the words “Vegas Octagon”, which is the nickname of the UFC Apex centre in Nevada, Texas.

Zuckerberg, 38 previously talked about his martial arts training on Facebook, adding that he competed in his first jiu-jitsu tournament, having trained with UFC prospects in the build-up.

Meanwhile, Musk had earlier said on Twitter that he does not engage in routine exercise.

“I almost never work out, except for picking up my kids and throwing them in the air,” he said.
