United duly delivered with Bruno Fernandes’ converting from the penalty spot before Jesse Lingard grabbed a late goal to secure the win.
Chelsea also ensured their place in the money-spinning competition with a 2-0 win over Wolves at the Stamford Bridge on the final day of the season.
Frank Lampard’s men were able to secure themselves a spot in the Champions League thanks to first half goals from Mason Mount and Oliver Giroud.
