Man stabs wife’s alleged secret lover to death

Kenyan police have arrested a man, Silas Menon Kinjo for allegedly killing a man he suspected was his wife’s secret lover.

The incident reportedly happened on 11 September, 2023 in Kapsokwony, Bungoma County of Kenya.

National Police Service (NPS), confirmed the incident and claimed that the suspect stabbed one Alex Kayecha (40) because he suspected his wife was cheating with him.

Kayecha was found lying on the ground in a pool of his blood with stab wounds on bis body.

Local media reports that the victim was later rushed to Mt. Elgon Sub-County Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead while undergoing treatment.

According to police statement; “It is suspected that the deceased succumbed to his wounds after he was stubbed by one Silas Menon Kinjo, (already arrested) on suspicion that he was having a love affair with his wife.”

The NPS said officers recovered a kitchen knife and a blood-stained bed sheet at the scene.

The body of the deceased is currently being preserved at Dreamland Mission Mortuary awaiting autopsy.

A man, John Clerkson, has been arrested for allegedly killing his elder brother, who was accused of witchcraft in Adamawa state.

The 42-year-old suspect from Dumna Zarbu in Guyuk Local Government Area is alleged to have murdered of his 57-year-old brother, Mohammed Clerkson.

According to reports, the incident occurred on August 29, when John confronted Mohammed and accused him of bewitching the wife of his own son.

The suspect, who is currently in the custody of the Adamawa State Police Command, accused his deceased sibling of being responsible for the death of some people in the community.

John accosted his elder brother for “catching the spirit” his daughter-in-law, Robert Mohammed, as a result of which the wife fainted.

News went round that Mohammed was allegedly the witch terrorizing the inhabitants of the community, residents trooped to his house with their sick family members, asking him to release them from the ‘spirit of sickness’.

It was also gathered that a fight broke out between John, the suspect, and his elder brother, Mohammed, when the former demanded explanation concerning the alleged witchcraft.

The State Police command said John, who was arrested after Mohammed died, is claiming that he was not responsible for his brother’s death.

The suspect claimed that Mohammed died after he was pelted with stones by youths of the community.

Adamawa Police Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the incident and noted that the suspect would be properly investigated and prosecuted.
