Lootings: FCT minister orders mass deployment of soldiers, police in Abuja

As part of measures to stop further looting of warehouses in the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Bello, the FCT minister, has ordered the deployment of soldiers and other security agents to different parts of Abuja.

He also ordered the arrest and prosecution of persons, who forcefully invaded a warehouse in Gwagwalada Area Council and looted the stored food items, believed to be COVID-19 palliatives.

The FCT minister gave the order on Monday, during an emergency meeting with leaders of various security agencies.

He also urged persons who looted food items to return them, adding that there would be massive deployment of security agents to safeguard factories and warehouses at Idu Industrial Area.

The minister, however, decried that the current situation across the country was no longer #EndSARS protest but stealing by thugs.
