Legendary talk show host, Jerry Springer is dead

American talk show icon, Jerry Springer has died, aged 79.

Springer’s family spokesperson said he died “peacefully” on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at his home in suburban Chicago.

The spokeperson said the former Mayor of Cincinnati was battling pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed a few months ago, and this week he took a turn for the worse.

His family said in a statement: “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word.

“He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.”

Springer was best known for his 27-year run as host of his eponymous talkshow named after him, which featured guests who purportedly engaged in controversial, excessive and questionable intimate behavior.
