Lady who aced WAEC at age 14 after being homeschooled set to bag first class in Law

A Nigerian undergraduate Deborah Oludimu, has shared the story of her journey to attaining academic excellence.

She said that she did not attend secondary school from JSS 1 to JSS 3 because she learnt and studied at home.

The homeschooled lady said that she had no tutors, so her parents were the ones initially teaching her at home but after sometime she began to teach herself.

Deborah said that in her senior high phase she went on to register for WAEC and passed it in one sitting when she was 14 years old.

The brilliant student who is studying Law at the University of Ibadan is now on her way to bagging a first class degree.

She disclosed that she has an almost perfect CGPA of 3.83/4 and she is now self studying because she no longer attends classes. According to her, the only reason she goes for lectures is just to sign the attendance.

Deborah wrote; I was homeschooled from JSS1 to SS3. Had no tutors.

Still I,

-Made my WAEC papers in one sitting at 14.

-Had 290 in UTME.

-Currently studying law at UI with a CGPA of 3.83/4.0.

Now, I self study and only go to class for attendance, cos I don’t know how to listen in class.

When a user asked; Interesting… Your mom homeschooled you? I’ve always been curious about how homeschooling works in Nigeria.

Deborah replied; In the early days, yes. But not quite. She and my dad happened to be in the sciences and I pivoted to the arts.

Mostly self study, read everything I could see, and they got me text books too. Then, the INTERNET.
