A 37-year old man identified as Nuradeen Shehu, has reportedly taken his life in Kano State, because his ex-wife married again.
The deceased who worked as a security guard at Prestige International College, Gwale Local Government Area, hanged himself with a rope in one of the classrooms.
State Police Commissioner, Hussaini Gumel made this known on Tuesday, January 30, as he disclosed that one Abdullahi Abdulsalam brought the report on January 28 at about 10:30 am.
He said Abdulsamal of Rijiyar Zaki told police officers that the security guard at the college, was found motionless hanging from the ceiling of a classroom.
According to Gumel, a team of Police men from Gwale Division, led by the DPO, immediately rushed to the scene and forcefully unlocked the door and cut the rope.
They rushed the body of the deceased to Murtala Mohammed General Hospital where a medical doctor confirmed him dead. Shehu’s body was released to the family of the deceased for burial.
Investigations revealed that the deceased was recently divorced and the news of his wife remarrying broke his heart and pushed him to hang himself. Gumel added that the police would thoroughly investigate the incident.
