Joeboy offers financial aid to UNILAG students following school fees hike

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Joeboy, has provided some financial relief to students of the University of Lagos following the hike in tuition.

UNILAG had increased the fees to between N120,000 – N170,000 weeks ago and the students had protested to demand a reversal but the management only cut off about 10 percent and maintained the new amount.

Joeboy who is an alumni of the institution felt the plight of the undergraduates and decided to support some of them by paying their school fees.

The ‘Alcohol’ crooner noted that when he was studying at UNILAG the tuition was N20k and he wondered how people are copying with paying the N100,000.

He offered to help as many people as possible and asked them to provide proof of their payment slip to qualify for his support fund.

Joeboy tweeted; “Unilag school fees during my time was 20k and a lot of people were still struggling to pay. I can’t imagine how hard it is for students now that it’s over 100k.

The singer added; “Please send me a DM with your payment slip if you need assistance. I’ll help as many people as I can.”
