Jigawa government to spend over N2bn on feeding residents during Ramadan

The Jigawa State government has approved the sum of N2.8 billion to feed the needy and vulnerable people in the state in the month of Ramadan.

Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Sagir Musa made this known in a statement issued on Thursday, March 14 in Dutse.

According to him, the decision to feed residents was reached at the executive council meeting on Wednesday, March 13.

The information commissioner explained that the gesture was aimed at easing the hardship caused by the current hike in the cost of food items in Nigeria.

He said the government had also approved 609 feeding centres across the state for Ramadan feeding, noting that a minimum of two centres had been approved for each of the 287 wards of Jigawa.

He revealed via his social media page that he will be feeding 500 people throughout the thirty-day holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Muslims all across the world have begun fasting for Ramadan, which falls in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This year’s fasting began on Monday, March 11th and is slated to end on April 9th.

Bobrisky who describes himself as the ‘Mummy of Lagos,’ he will distribute free food to 500 individuals every day till the end of the fasting.

The business entrepreneur wrote: “It’s Ramadan guys, I’m gonna be feeding 500 souls daily for the 30th days Like I have always said I will continue to ignore trolls and keep doing me.
