Reality TV star, Josephina Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna shares how social media controversies have taken a toll on her deals with brands.
The Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner said she’s lost a total of 17 ambassadorial deals as a result of her numerous scuffles with colleagues as well as critics.
Phyna made the revelation in a recent interview with colleague, Doyinsola David on a recent episode of her podcast, Doyin’s Corner.
She mentioned that one brand, in particular, declined working with her due to negative public perception as they felt she is abusive.
The company’s position came on the heels of claims that Phyna slapped her ex-boyfriend Groovy for going behind her back to secure a deal that was meant for both of them.
Phyna claims that the majority of unfavorable stories from bloggers contributed to the dent that her image has suffered.
She said: “Two weeks ago, my manager and I did a calculation of how many deals I lost last year till now. We counted 17 deals.
I am aware of a big brand that told me their reason for not working with me is because I am an abuser. They said they can’t work with an abuser, and this was coming during that period that bloggers said I slapped someone.”
