I’ve been restless since my daughter returned to school where she was poisoned – Ronke Oshodi-Oke

Seasoned Nigerian actress, Ibironke Ojo-Anthony, aka Ronke Oshodi-Oke, raised an alarm few days ago that her daughter was allegedly poisoned in school.

She revealed in a viral video that she got a call late at night that her child drank bleach and was rushed to the hospital.

According to the movie star, the girl was taken to three different hospitals for treatment before she began to respond.

She said; “My daughter is in the university now. About three weeks ago, they called me around 3.45am that my daughter Jummy drank hypo, I was like hypo? How will my daughter drink hypo?

“I went to the hospital she was in. She was crying. She wasn’t herself. What happened is that maybe her roommate or her friends deliberately pour hypo into the water that she drank. They wanted to kill her.We went to three hospitals before my daughter was okay.”

Ronke said during an interview on Saturday that she suspects foul play and does not believe her daughter tried to take her own life.

She added that the girl, however, returned to the same school against her wishes.

The actress said her mind had not been at rest, but she ensured that the girl didn’t return to the school without some strong warnings.

Ronke said; “I cannot be at peace letting her go back to the same school. I have called her more than five times today (Thursday). Whenever I call and she does not answer the phone, I would be worried. However, I know the people in the school would have seen the video I made.

I will still go there on Monday to have a meeting with them. If they don’t tell me what I want or respond well, that is when I will mention the name of the school. We don’t know the people who actually did it, but according to them (the school), they are investigating the issue.

“The devil is living in some people’s children. The children we are talking about here are between the ages of 16 and 20. I see them as children, and I wonder why such children could think of doing something so evil. When they become proper adults, what would they then do?

“I did not let her go back without strong warnings. I told her that whenever she wants to eat, she should be careful. I also told her that she should never leave her food or drink unattended to for whatever reason, even if she is going to the toilet.”
