It’s not true that we don’t give ‘shishi’ – Obi

The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has said that the postulation that he doesn’t want to spend money (give shishi) for campaign is not true.

He stated this during an interactive session with North-Eastern socio-political stakeholders in Abuja on Monday 5th December 2022.

The former governor of Anambra state said that rather than steal public funds, he is more interested in using state the money to positively impact the lives of Nigerians if elected to office come 2023.

Obi also said he will be committed to being a president for every region including the North-East, and he won’t just be governing from the presidential villa in Abuja.

He said; “People say we don’t give people ‘shishi’. It is not true. But I want to use your money for your good. I want to use it to educate your children and give them opportunities.

“I don’t want to steal your money. That’s not what I am doing because it is wrong. Rather, I want to be part of you and your children.

“I am going to be your President from the Northeast. There’s no way I will not tour every single state of Nigeria. I’ll be everywhere”.

Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported earlier that the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu finally put to rest speculations and rumours regarding his age.

He said that he was born on March 29, 1952, which means he is 70 years old.

He also addressed the alleged falsification of school documents and controversy surrounding his work history.

Tinubu revealed his age while speaking at Chatham House, London, United Kingdom on Monday, 5th of December 2022.

The former Lagos state governor urged those who doubt his claims that he’s a member of the Tinubu family to request that a DNA test be conducted for confirmation.

Speaking on his academic history, the APC presidential flagbearer noted that he has received his original degree certificate from Chicago State University, USA.

Tinubu also talked working with Mobil Oil, saying that the global oil firm has attested to his outstanding record.

He said: “At the time of birth, I was dated March 29, 1952. Then, I don’t think I’d decided to be President of Nigeria, not even that I would go into politics.

My record is consistent in the university they questioned. The record is there, and the transcript is there showing March 1952.

“I’m not claiming another father. I’m Tinubu and Tinubu proper. If they want to conduct a DNA, they could as well request for one. Chicago State University where I graduated has now attested to that.

I can announce that I’ve received my original replacement degree certificate from them. Deloitte trained me as an accountant. Mobil Oil has attested to my outstanding record. I got to the pinnacle of my career in the private sector. Who among them can brag about that?”
