I’m not proud of abortion I did when I was younger – Phyna

Big Brother Naija star, Josephina “Phyna” Otabor, has decried being judged for getting an abortion when she was much younger.

She recalled doing it when she was around 20 years old and noted that it is not something she is proud of, but if she gets pregnant now, she will keep the baby.

Phyna not proud of abortion

Phyna opened up during a chat with Doyinsola David on her podcast, Doyin’s Corner, where she also said her claim that every woman has done abortion was twisted by the media.

According to her, the idea of women taking morning after pills is the same as someone who got pregnant choosing to get an abortion.

Speaking further, the winner of BBNaija ‘Level Up’, she made a mistake and did not want to ruin her future that is why she did not keep the child.

Phyna said; “I didn’t want to talk about it [abortion] anymore because it is obvious a lot of bloggers try to twist my words to their satisfaction. This is something that happened a very long time ago, too young, as at then I think around 20 years, I knew I wanted to be somebody in life.

“It’s not something I am proud of, I mean nobody should be proud of that, but this happened while I was younger. I knew what I went through. Nobody knew what I went through, it’s not something I am proud of but let’s call a spade a spade.”

Watch her speak:

CorrectNG recalls that the 26-year-old brand influencer said she is being attacked about her past abortions because she made it public instead of keeping it a secret like many women.

She recalled how she talked about doing abortion in the Big Brother house when all housemates were having a general conversation about their lives and she never knew her colleagues would use it against her.

Phyna said; “When I came out of the house everybody wanted to chase clout with Phyna, everybody was ready to do shiii. When I was in the house there was a conversation, everybody was talking….

“Issue of abortion, na who talk ihn own dem know right? There is nobody, no woman that will tell me she has not done one or twice.”
