“I’m getting better at all I do” – Neo replies those criticising his acting skills

Nigerian reality TV star, actor and model, Neo Akpofure, also known as Neo Energy, has tackled critics who raised questions over his acting skills.

Following Neo’s role in popular actress, Ini Edo’s latest film, ‘My Daughter’s Crush,’ the former Big Brother Naija finalist, faced backlash over what those who watched it deemed as poor performance.

Reacting to the criticism via his official Twitter account, the Delta born fashion enthusiasts said he is not bothered by the negative comments.

Neo noted that he is getting better at everything including his craft and that people’s validations mean nothing to him.

The 27-year-old wrote: “Talk down on me and my craft all you want, I’m getting better at all I do by the day and your validations mean nothing to me.”

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, whose stage name is Basketmouth, has revealed that he took up a role in the Blockbuster movie Brotherhood to test his acting skills.

He said he was curious to know whether he would be able to pull it off and although he is not going into acting full time, he will consider returning to the screens if he gets another good script.

The stand-up comedian spoke in a recent interview where he also revealed that he will be releasing three movies in the course of the year.

Basketmouth said 2024 will be a year to remembe because of the different exciting projects that he has lined up for release.

The comic act also expressed satisfaction with his comedy career of 25 years, noting that it is time for him to explore other opporunities in the entertainment industry.

Basketmouth said; “I featured in Brotherhood mostly because I was curious to see if I could pull it off, and I want to believe I did. Maybe when I get a good script with a daring character, I just might take a shot at acting again.

“However, I will be producing at least three movies this year, starting with A Ghetto Love Story. The rest will be announced as time goes on. We have some exciting projects coming up. My team and I have been working tirelessly for a couple of years now preparing for 2024.

It will be a year to remember for sure. I am embarking on a new journey and I am desperately looking forward to it. I have been doing comedy for 25 years now, and I think I’ve had a good taste of it already. I believe it is time to explore new opportunities in music and movies.”
