If you vote out APC you’re rejecting poverty – Okowa to Nigerians

Governor of Delta state and Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa has urged the people to vote the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in 2023.

He made the call while addressing supporters at a PDP rally in Warri township stadium, Warri South Local Government Area of the State.

Okowa said APC brought increased hardship and poverty upon Nigerians, but the PDP does not want the people to remain poor after the current government ends in 2023.

The governor stressed that it is in the people’s best interest to ensure APC government leaves office next year because they are the party that brought hunger to Nigeria.

He also addressed claims by the APC that his administration wasted the State’s resources on appointments, saying that he only appointed many people to provide food on the table of Nigerians.

Governor Okowa further tackled the Labour Party, which he said has no hope of victory because “it is only in PDP you can find a road. Let’s vote for PDP.”

He said; “We don’t want poverty to continue. 8 months ago, students were at home. Not going to school because they couldn’t pay. In Delta, people were going to school. We were able to pay salaries. We don’t want that party that’s spoiling things for us. Vote them out.”

Meanwhile, Titi Abubakar, wife of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar recently made an apparent blunder.

She called on Nigerians during a campaign rally to ‘vote’ for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), even though her husband is in the opposition party.

Titi set the internet abuzz when she was condemning APC for failing to fulfil its promises only to urge citizens to collect their PVC and vote the ruling party in the 2023 general election.

She said: “By the 25th of February, everybody should come, if you have not collected your PVC, go and collect your PVC… we should vote APC; APC promised to do so many things for the country but we can see ourselves now the way we are.”

In reaction, the spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo spoke in defence of the wife of the PDP flagbearer.

Keyamo said: “…In all honesty, this is obviously a slip of tongue, but we hold the view that it is unreasonable to make a mountain out of such molehills, especially when you quickly correct yourself!”
