Popular radio host, Daddy Freeze, has asserted that Nigerians with less than N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) in their bank accounts are living in poverty.
He made the statement in a video message he shared on his Instagram page as he added that only people who live in villages will be comfortable having less than N500k.
The media personality maintained that those in the cities will always have a low standard of living if they have less than that amount in their accounts.
Freeze said; “If you don’t have N500k cash in all your accounts joined together, you are living in poverty unless you live in a village. If you live in Port Harcourt, Lagos or Abuja, and you have less than N500k, you will live a substandard life.”
He captioned the clip: “0.6% Of Nigerians Have Up To N500k In Their Bank Accounts A Study Suggests. Some People Are Saying You Can Live Comfortably With Less Than 500k Saved Up. I Totally Disagree.”

thelindalyn; I disagree as well. Having less than 500k home and abroad in this economy? As a single person, maybe you can manage even though the quality of living will still be substandard. But with family and kids involved, it is poor.
officialsarahmartins; What’s 500k???? Rent alone in this GRA is 2.5m, plus school fees that least good school is from 350k per kid, feeding, electricity, car maintenance, random bills etc… omo I just dey look broke people with zero responsibilities dey cap 🧢

aureliacakeshop; Even 500k is not the life my brother…. Your 500k is one self-contain away from poverty. If I have only 500k in my account na to relocate to my village o! Cost of living is quite high in the cities.
