If Man Utd don’t want me, I’ll go somewhere else – Ten Hag

Erik ten Hag has said if Manchester United do not want him, he will go elsewhere and win trophies for another club.

The United manager won his second piece of silverware in as many seasons, thanks to a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

If Man Utd don't want me I'll go somewhere else’ – Ten Hag

On whether he will remain manager next season, Ten Hag stated that if he is let go he will continue to win trophies, whether he’s at United or elsewhere.

Speaking at the post-match news conference on Saturday, he said; “Two trophies in two years is not bad, three finals in two years is not bad. If they don’t want me, then I go somewhere else to win trophies because that is what I do.”

Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported earlier that the Manchester United manager hit back at comments made by Jose Mourinho that he never had the same level of support the Dutchman currently enjoys at the club.

Mourinho suggested that Ten Hag has been given more backing in the transfer market than he had during his 2½ years at Old Trafford.

However, Ten Hag said in an interview with ESPN Brasil, said that Mourinho is the only manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era to “get the players they wanted.”

He said; “Apart from Mourinho, the manager didn’t get the players they wanted, and that is what you need. I am confident we will achieve our goals, but it is a tough competition.

It is not a two-horse race anymore. There are seven, eight [teams in the Premier League] who all go for the title, who all have very good squads. So if you want to go to the title, you have to construct that squad.”
