I woke up from coma after 4 days to see my dad was by my side – Singer, Victony

Nigerian Afropop singer, Victony, has revealed that he was in coma for three to four days after his involvement in a car accident in 2021.

It may be recalled that he narrowly escaped death in a ghastly auto crash that left one dead, two injured and restricted him to a wheelchair for about a year.

Victony featured on a recent episode of Tea with Tay audiovisual podcast hosted by Taymesan, where he recounted the tragic experience.

According to the ‘Soweto’ crooner, he remembered leaving the club and falling asleep in the car only for him to wake up in the hospital after being in a coma.

He said that his dad was by his side at the hospital and he was surprised to see him because he did not give the man details of his whereabouts.

He said; “Just leaving the club, on our way back, I slept off. I was tired. That was like my first time outside up to that time. So, I slept off.

“When I woke up, I was in the hospital with my dad. I was like ‘what’s happening?’. Because my parents didn’t know I was in Lagos. So, I was like ‘why is my dad here?’ And he told me I was out for like 3 or 4 days.

“I heard that the impact was from the back like another car hit us. The driver and the other guy at the front they were totally fine. We were two at the back, two at the front. So, the one beside me [at the back] he died while I broke my legs”.

Meanwhile, he recently said that for the past two months, he’s been in pain, but it wasn’t the physical kind rather the one that made him realise it is a gift to not be hospitalised.

Victony disclosed that he had done three surgeries after the ghastly accident two years ago, and he is back to making use of his legs.

Taking to his Twitter page, the ‘Holy Father’ hit maker declared that it is time for him to live and as such fans should be expecting a lot of music from him.

The artiste now moves around with the aid of a walking stick.

Victony wrote; “I been in so much pain the last 2months, the type that makes you realize how much, life outside the hospital is a gift.
