I will retire if they pay me the amount Burna Boy receives for shows – Basketmouth

Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha also known as Basketmouth, is blown away by the amount Grammy winner, Burna Boy receives as performance fee.

He stated that Burna Boy is usually paid between 3 to 4 million dollars for a single music show, however, if they pay him that amount, he will never attend any show again.

Burna Boy rejected N1 billion to perform at event - Mr Jollof

Basketmouth said; “Burna Boy is paid 3 to 4 million dollars for a single performance. If they pay me that for a show, that will certainly be my last show”.

This comes after the Afrobeats singer revealed that he earlier turned down a $5 million offer to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

According to Burna, he rejected the deal because he would not have been allowed to smoke his favourite substance (weed) in the United Arab Emirates.

The self acclaimed African Giant made this known in a video that went viral on social media during a freestyle rehearsal with his band, Outsiders. Emirati law prohibits smoking in parks, beaches and all public recreational areas in Dubai.

“Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollars na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where dem no go gree allow me smoke igbo… Shey na till dem tell you,” he sang.

He said Burna Boy was booked to perform at a concert organised by him and some investors in Warri, Delta State, but they could not go through with the deal.

Mr Jollof wrote; “Me and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (1.3 billion Naira today’s rate). Guess what? They said it’s too small.

“Burna Boy no dey Nigeria lane again oo because we didn’t utilise him enough before he was exported to global music market. No jokes.”
