I was discovered by Tunde Ednut, not D’Prince – Ruger

Nigerian music sensation, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger has stated that contrary to widespread belief, blogger Tunde Ednut was the person who discovered him and not his former boss, D’Prince.

The 24-year-old singer said the blogger introduced him to D’Prince who then signed him to his record label, Jonzing World.

Ruger revealed this via his Instagram story shortly after exiting Jonzing World and launching his own music label, Blown Boy Entertainment.

He wrote: “Just because I’m free to talk now, I want to specially thank @mazitundeednut for being the initial person that discovered me before handing me over to the Prince. God bless you, king maker.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Asiwaju’ crooner earlier caused a stir online when he declared that he is no longer loyal to ‘some godfather’ in the music industry.

He denounced loyalty to an undisclosed godfather in a trending video while stating that this year is all about himself.

Ruger dropped these words in a freestyle titled ‘Blownboy’ whiile announcing his exit from Jonzing World through Instagram on February 6.

In the freestyle, the singer, however, said he was grateful to the record label and D’Prince but it is time for him to take a bet on himself.

“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me,” Ruger sang.
