Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie has claimed to be the person who introduced the viral slogan “No gree for anybody” in Nigeria.
He said that people have been telling him that he was the one who came up with the slogan on Facebook and Instagram, which Nigeria police has now warned citizens against using.
Yul said that he carried out investigation and discovered that he was truly the person who came up with the phrase in December last year.
Taking to his Instagram page, the thespian asked Nigeians to give him credit for ‘No gree fo anybody’ which is now being said by many people.
The famous actor said; “People have been telling me that it was Yul Edochie who started the slogan ‘NO GREE FOR ANYBODY’.
They said it came from a post I made on the 29th of December, 2023 on Instagram and Facebook, from there it went viral. I have investigated the matter. E be like na true oo. So make una dey give me my credit oo. 🕺🕺🕺”

CorrectNG recalls that the Nigeria Police Force issued a warning earlier this month that “No gree for anybody” is dangerous and capable of inciting chaos.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who spoke during a press briefing on Wednesday, January 10 warned citizens to refrain from using the slogan.
He said that based on intelligence gathered by the police, ‘No Gree For Anybody’ is a revolutionary phrase intended to trigger crisis across the country.
The police spokesperson said; “Let me say it again that the new slogan for 2024, “No gree for anybody.” We have been informed by intelligence that this slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that may likely cause problems across the country.
“No gree for anybody’’ is being seen as a normal talk but in the security community we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crisis.’’
