I secured N20 million endorsement deal at 17 – Davido

Ace Nigerian singer, David Adeleke aka Davido has disclosed that he bagged a multimillion-naira ambassadorial deal when he was 17 years old.

Speaking during a recent interview, he said that he had just two songs when a telecommunication firm gave him an endorsement deal worth N20 million.

The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ said it was a big deal for his family as none of them had never seen that kind of money.

Davido said: “I remember when MTN, a telecommunication company came and they were like, they want to do endorsement, but then he (dad) was like, how much, and I said 20 million. I was 17. Nobody has seen that kind of money.

“Wow, this is from Music, and it’s off like two songs, of course. I’m like, ‘Daddy, see, we can do this’.

“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really really successful.”

In other news, Big Brother Naija ex-housemate, Tolani Shobajo, popularly known as Tolanibaj, has said she is not angry about being dragged on Twitter because whenever that happens brands contact her for ambassadorial deals.

The reality TV star stated this while being featured in the recent episode of the BTS Reality audiovisual podcast.

Tolanibaj bragged that she is the “Queen of drags”, adding that she knows the people who troll her are unhappy.

She said; “I wouldn’t say it were blogs that even called me ugly. It’s the trolls na, people on Twitter that I have grown to understand that they are just unhappy people.

“I’m the Queen of getting dragged! They will drag me, the next day what will happen? A brand is calling me the next day that they want to sign me… And I’m not even trying o. I’m just a star!”

She continued; “When I got out of Big Brother house, the [trolls’] comments used to get to me. But now I don’t even read comments anymore because these are the same people that will see me and beg me to take pictures.

“You will see me and you will shake no matter the rubbish you tweet about me on Twitter. When you see T Baj in person, you will shake. You will want a picture, you will want an autograph. And I need stackers, I know what I’m saying.

“So, when I see tweets like these, I just understand that they are unhappy or they are envious, or they are probably having a bad day or a bad week and they are looking for someone to pour that anger on.”
