I refused to wear their uniform – Portable boasts about one-day prison experience

Buzzing street-hop singer, Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola, has reflected on his short but memorable experience in detention.

On Monday, he was transported to the Ilaro Correctional Centre in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, after being arraigned.

Portable was charged with five counts bordering on assault before the court presided over by the chief magistrate, A.S Shoneye.

The singer, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Delivering his ruling, the presiding judge said the offences are bailable and granted him bail with bail bond of N300,000 and N500,000 as well two sureties who must reside within the jurisdiction of the honorable court.

The case was adjourned to April 26 for hearing.

After perfecting his bail conditions, the artiste was released and one of the things he did was to share his prison experience in a song titled ‘Federal Government Liability’.

In a snippet of the song he shared on Instagram, Portable bragged that he didn’t wear a prison uniform while at the correctional centre.

Celebrating his freedom with the lyrics, the controversial musician stated that he is a child of grace who can never be disgraced.

“I am a child of Grace. Latest glory. From star to the eagle, come and see grace wey no dey disgrace. They carried me to prison but I didn’t wear their cloth. Leave me alone. I am not a prisoner,” he sings.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi said Portable was arrested for being unruly and injuring a policeman.
