I now charge $100,000 per feature – Davido

Multi award-winning Nigerian singer, Davido has revealed the huge amount of money he currently charges anybody that wants to feature him.

The DMW founder said his fee for a feature is $100,000 (N74 million) and it is applicable to foreign artistes.

Davido made this known while fielding questions from Bootleg Kev during a recent interview on his podcast. He also said that’s the price he charges if he knows the artiste.

According to the ‘Holy Ground’ singer, instead of featuring foreign artistes for free, he is now charging them $100k.

He said that once an interested person contacts him for a collaboration, he sends his lawyers to seal the deal after an agreement has been reached.

Davido said; “Nigga, I am charging now. Yeah, I am charging now. I am sending my lawyers. If I know you, $100k”.

In other news, Nollywood actress and producer, Ruby Ojiakor has said that she’s been a victim of sex-for-role offers in the movie industry.

She recounted losing a role as the lead character in a movie because she turned down the request by the marketer to sleep with her.

According to Ojiakor, when she rejected his advances, shooting had already started so she thought it would not affect her, but they replaced her in subsequent scenes.

Speaking in an interview, the pretty actress revealed that she was cast alongside Ghanaian star, Majid Michel and he was paid extra to reshoot the same scenes with someone else.

Ruby said; I remember when I was called for a job in Enugu and we shot it for two days. I was supposed to be the female lead character in the movie. The marketer that owned the job wanted to ‘get down’ with me. But, I told him I could not do such a thing. I thought that since I had started shooting some scenes in the movie, nothing could be done to me and he cannot cancel my scenes, which I shot with Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, then.

I also felt Majid would not want to re-act the scenes he had done before. Those factors made me think that the producer’s decision to change me would be fruitless. But to my surprise, I was not called to continue my scenes. When I challenged the production manager, he said I should not be angry because someone else had been called to play the role. I was not given any reason for being removed from that project.
