I never watched you or copied your style in BBNaija house – Phyna tells White Money

Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner, Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, popularly addressed as Phyna, has revealed that she never adopted her colleague, White Money’s style during her time on the show.

The former hype priestess made the revelation during a chat on MTV Base Sparks alongside ‘Shine Ya Eye’ winner, Hazel ‘White Money’ Onou as she reminisced on auditioning for the reality TV show five times before being selected.

He had probed Phyna about claims that she copied his slang ‘Who dey’ during her season, but she rebuffed it and said that she does not watch Big Brother any year she fails to be chosen and it so happens that during his season, she failed to make it into the house so she could not have copied him.

White Money said: “I heard that you kind of used my script in the [Big Brother] House. There is a certain aspect of me that you inherited and used to spice up your own game. And it worked for you.”

Phyna responded: “I have been auditioning for Big Brother for about five years. Four years before the fifth year last year [when I was selected]. Any year they don’t pick me, I don’t watch Big Brother. I don’t even want to know anything about it. I’m always jealous.

“So, when I was in the [Big Brother] House and I said, ‘Who deyyyy?….’ I was angry that day. It’s something I always say. It’s just part of me. So, I said that. And one day, one of the housemates was like, ‘Whitemoney used to say this ‘Who deyyy?’ in the House. You’re copying him.’

“I’m like, really? I didn’t know o because I didn’t watched [Big Brother Naija Season 6]. And she was like, no, you’re copying him. And I was like, anyways, as long as he win, you say I dey copy abi? Ehnn, make e still work for me.”

Meanwhile, popular comedian and actor, Mr Macaroni has recounted how God turned his sorrows to joy when he was having challenges in school.

The skit-maker revealed that he was battling depression around 2017/2018 when he was rusticated from the university. Macaroni said that was the 4th university he was attending at the time, but he started auditioning for movie roles.

He recalled how casting directors scammed him between 2018 and 2019 by asking for payment for before he can be selected for roles. After several failed attempts to be cast in films, he started creating content and that was how God answered his call. He, however, added that he was eventually recalled and graduated.

He wrote; I was dealing with depression late 2017/2018 —- That was the period I was expelled from Uni. And it was the 4th University at the time. Abeg Wetin consine me with watching film then? My life sef na film wey people dey watch.

From 2018-2019 was another round of depression. I continued hustling for roles again in nollywood. I have been acting on and off since like 2011. From one audition to another. Dem scam me tire. I dey pay for form ontop say I wan act…. I started creating contents and posting online late 2019 when depression wan finish me. God picked my call same year.

Abeg I wasn’t expelled from four universities ooo. Yes I went to 4 different universities but I wasn’t expelled from all 4. I was expelled in only one Uni. However, I was recalled and I graduated successfully. T for Thanks.
