I never used my ex-wife, Venita to ‘entertain’ male guests – Terna Tarka Speaks (Video)

Nigerian businessman, Terna Tarka, has dismissed the controversial claims that his ex-wife and reality TV star, Venita Akpofure made about Tiv men.

It may be recalled that when she was in the Big Brother Naija All Stars house, Venita said Tiv men usually give their wives to male visitors for entertainment purposes.

She faced backlash over her statement and a lawmaker also threatened legal action against her if she failed to tender a public apology to Tiv community.

The mother-of-two later apologised in an interview with media personality, Hero Daniels, saying she regrets her “careless” comment especially as her daughters are Tiv.

Venita said; “The statement I made about Tiv people got twisted a bit. My daughters are actually Tiv. There’s no way I will be trying to make any kind of malicious or slanderous comment towards their people.

“Actually, in my season we did a whole play around the Tor Tiv coronation which I participated in and was super excited about. So, you know, sometimes you will say something maybe it is a little bit carelessly. And I think it got really misconstrued. And for those that are offended by it, I’m regretful about that.”

Three weeks after the end of the show, Venita’s ex-husband, Terna said such does not happen among men from the Tiv ethnic group. He said he comes from a respected family and never gave his ex-wife to any guest as claimed.
