I don’t want to lose 50 percent – Zlatan Ibrahimovic on why he’s not married girlfriend of 20 years

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has explained the reasons he and his girlfriend of two decades are not yet married despite having kids together.

The former AC Milan forward and his partner Helena Seger have been dating for 20 years, but the pair remain unmarried, and this is due to two main reasons.

Discussing his private life with the British television personality, Piers Morgan, the 42-year-old said he is still in the courtship phase firstly because he his girlfriend turned down his marriage proposal.

Secondly, the ex-Sweden international said he does not want to get married so that he would not lose 50% percent of his assets.

When asked why he is yet to be married to Helena, despite being committed to her for over two decades and having two boys with her, Ibrahimovic explained that she turned down his approach, saying she did not have to be legally tied to him to be in a relationship.

The former Malmo striker said jokingly; “Because I don’t want to lose fifty per cent.”

Ibrahimovic added; “I don’t have a wife; I have two boys. I have asked her, she said no. She’s strong.

This was a couple of years ago because I said after 20 years you deserve to be married to me. She said, ‘I don’t need to be married to you to be with you’. She’s strong; she’s very strong.”
