I accommodated Basketmouth, AY in my boys’ quarters – Comedian Alibaba

Veteran stand-up comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome professionally known as Alibaba, has revealed that popular comedians, Basketmouth and AY used to live with him.

He said he allowed the rival entertainers to stay in his boy’s quarters years ago when they were still coming up in the industry.

Alibaba made the disclosure when he featured as a guest on an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by On-Air Personality, Nedu Wazobia.

The ‘King of comedy’ said; “Basketmouth and AY… When you think about it, these are people who were living in BQ [boys’ quarters] with me back in the days.”

It may be recalled that Basketmouth and AY had a 17-year rival which was recently squashed when the latter apologised. Subsequently, Basket sent an invite to Ayo Makun to attend his comedy show at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner also known as Zoro, has shared his grass to grace story and how he was supported by Phyno.

The ‘042’ crooner sat down for a chat on the Zero Conditions podcast, where he revealed that popular rapper Phyno accommodated him at some point during the early days of his music career.

Zoro said he was sleeping on the floor in one of the empty rooms in the house of the Penthauze Record label boss’ before his hit song ‘Ogene’ gained traction.

He further disclosed that he left Phyno’s house in 2016 after someone stole the ‘Alobam’ hit maker’s money.

Zoro said; “When my song ‘Ogene’ dropped, I was still in Phyno’s house. I was sleeping in an empty room that didn’t had a bed.

I just had my shirt that I tie my dirty clothes on and use it as pillow and sleep on the floor. I loaned money to fund the video of ‘Ogene’. Flavour also supported me.”
