Hunters arrest suspected kidnappers in Kogi

Hunters have arrested two suspected kidnappers notorious for terrorising Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Caretaker Chairman of Kabba Bunu local government, Barr Zacchaeus Dare, confirmed the arrest while addressing journalists on Saturday, identifying the suspects as Sani and Ali.

He said hunters apprehended the duo in Yanbanga LGA after information reached them that the kidnappers den was located in the area.

Dare vowed to smoke out all criminals from the local government no matter their hideout, and stressed that as many criminals that are living and entering the Kabba, none will escape the long arms of the law.

He said; “It will no longer be business as usual. We will make life unbearable for all criminal elements terrorising our local government.

Let me reiterate here that, no matter their hiding place, we will smoke them out. Our campaign for zero tolerance for criminality is on course in Kabba Bunu Local Government. If they come in hundreds, they will leave in zero”.

The caretaker chairman called on members of the general public to always provide information that will lead to the arrest of other criminals causing havoc in the society.

A suspected kidnapper identified as Haruna Musa recently lamented that he wasted his share of two million naira which he realised from kidnapping.

The 28-year-old Adamawa Indigene told newsmen that he squandered all the money without buying anything of value. Musa from Farang in Fufore Local Government Area was among nine suspects apprehended and paraded at the Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Yola.

Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the command attached to Crack Squad.

He added that Commissioner of Police Afolabi Adeniyi had ordered further investigation of the suspects before arraigning them in court.
