Nigerian comic actor, Baba Tee has claimed that popular standup comedian, Seyi Law appropriated his joke without seeking permission.
He said that he and Seyi used to be best friends but they fell out after he realised the dubious act carried out by the comedian.
Baba Tee opened up on the betrayal and other personal matters when he appeared as a guest The Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by OAP Nedu Wazobia.
The actor recalled how a mutual friend, Omo Jesu called him to alert him that Seyi Law was telling his jokes at an Ayo Makun’s comedy show.
When he was informed that Seyi Law had used one of his jokes for the open mic section of the show, he claimed he couldn’t believe it until it actually happened in front of him.
Baba Tee said; “My best friend was Seyi Law, we were very close. One day na hin Omo Jesu call me, say ‘Hello Baba Tee, Seyi don dey use your joke here oh’. I say ‘what joke, which material hin use?’
“He say the material hin use na that class wey yu give joke…. Hin don dey talk am for AY Live, hin dey take do open mic. Until when him render my joke for where I dey, for my presence, my intellectual property!”

j.u.m.m.a.i; This also happens in all area of life, and I learnt the hard way. What pain me is that, I wonder if some people don’t have a mind of their own. It’s what someone is pursuing is what feels like doing or having.
